3/30/2013 10-11 by CAD

The first call of the day usually determines the rest of the shift and when I got my first call I thought I was in for a long day.

We get a call for a disorderly/mental party at one of our local old folks home. Supposedly an Alzheimers patient got his hands on a wheel chair foot rest and was swinging it around trying to hit the staff with it. When Brad "angry man" Nixon and I got there the staff had disarmed him and were holding him. We got him into the dining area where they gave him some breakfast and we started to talk to him and calm him down. The director of the facility showed up and explained that the man had not had a good night sleep in 15 years....yea 15 fucking years. I'd be a little pissed off and might resort to swinging a wheel chair foot rest if I didn't sleep in 15 years so I gave the old guy some slack. He also said they were trying to give him some new meds and were trying to get him to take it after they put it in some yogurt but the old dude wasn't having any of it. After 15 minutes he had calmed down and we left him alone and told the staff that if he acts up to call us back.

We had a few alarms and a disabled motorist and another call or two when at 1500 I got a domestic between a mother and her 14 year old bi-racial daughter. Now I know your asking yourself "why did he put bi-racial in there" well it was in the notes of the call and if the mother felt is was important to tell the call taker that her daughter was bi-racial then who am I to  question why she did it. For the record it would make no difference how I handled the call weather she was bi-racial or tri-racial.

The mother and daughter got into it because the father (mom and dad are divorced) had recently gained temporary full custody of the daughter and now mom thinks that the daughter and father are conspiring against her so when they go to court in June the father will get full custody for good so now mom is secretly recording all her conversations with her daughter because she wants to catch her in a lie. Well after 45 minutes of the back and forth banter I finally had enough. I told them that their relationship was a train wreck which was headed off the rails and that if they don't get some type of counseling very soon it will be unrepairable and everybody will suffer. Just as I was finishing my tirade the father calls because it is time for the daughter to go back with him. I reiterated about the counseling and said good luck and goodbye.

Hope you all had a good day.....I'll salvage the rest of mine with some Legend Brown Ale.

Traffic court today with a very light docket, just me and a VSP Trooper.

Got out of court at 1130 and went to get something to eat. That was the most exciting part of my day. I always look forward to eating Thai food and today was no different, drunken noodles with Thai chili's always hits the spot.

A non reportable accident and a Burglar alarm and my day was over.

3/26/2013 10-11 by CAD

First call of the day was from the Starbucks and involved 2 females around 50 to 60 years of age getting a bath in the restroom. Supposedly they were screaming when asked by the staff to not bathe in the restroom so the staff called the Police. Unfortunately they had left as soon as they saw the staff calling 911, I'm sure it would have been a really funny call.

There were some minor calls like a few cars parked in a handicap parking space..... 2 $200.00 ticket's later and I'm on my way back in service.

Then I get a domestic call in which the husband grabbed the wife and wrestled her to the ground to get at her cell phone which supposedly had pictures of another guy that the husband believes his wife was cheating on him with. I get the call and as I'm in route my Sergeant sees the husband leave and stops him a few blocks away. I get to the house and determine that some type of an assault has taken place and by law we are required to make an arrest. So down to lock up goes the husband and we get a warrant for simple assault and he gets released on his own recognizance. I do my paperwork, get an Emergency Protection Order and clear and go back in service.

A shoplifting call comes in next in which a female tried to steal about $160.00 in laundry detergent. This is happening a lot in our sector and one of my partners was currently down at lock up with somebody who stole some detergent from a supermarket right across the street.  It seems like this female tried to exit the store and was stopped by loss prevention at which time she dropped the goods and beat feet. We checked the area but could not find her so I went back to the store and took the report.

As I'm logging off the computer at the end of my shift I hear a call come out over the radio for the same address as the domestic to check for a wanted party. My guess is that the husband took out a cross warrant on the wife. Sad but that's what happens every day.

Oh and my shoulder still hurts from yesterday.....more Motrin I guess.

3/25/2013 10-11 by CAD

Well with a day like this something bad was bound to happen.

I volunteered to be the accident car today. Was I crazy? probably a little but like I always say "you can only work 1 accident at a time" So right out of rollcall there is a 2 vehicle accident south side. I get my patrol car and go to my POV to get my bag and as I'm putting my bag in my patrol vehicle I slip and start to fall but manage to grab hold of the door frame with my left hand to stop my fall. When I did that I felt a little sting in my left shoulder. I played it off and continued onto my call.  As I pulled on location of the accident I was on the other side of the median and saw that it was a rear ender with no visible damage. I asked if there were any injuries and the driver of the first vehicle stated "yea my back is starting to hurt" and as soon as she said that I thought I saw the dollar signs floating around her head. So I pulled behind them and got out and looked for the damage. It consisted of 2 screw marks on the rear bumper of the first vehicle cause by the second vehicle which had no damage at all. So I explain that it will be a non reportable accident since there are no injuries and the damage is under $1500.00. Now upon hearing this the driver of the first vehicle says that her back is really starting to hurt and why is it non reportable. I explain that the damage is clearly under the amount that the state requires a report to be done and that in order to be classified as an injury someone needs to leave in an ambulance. Now having said that I can see the wheels turning for the driver of the first vehicle and I'm guessing she is going to ask for an ambulance since she starts to ask who is going to pay her medical bills. I explain again that a non reportable does not mean the accident didn't happen just that the Commonwealth will not be notified that it happened. She finally got it and I completed the exchange form and we all went our merry way. Some lawyer is going to get a call shortly.

I handle a few more calls and then my shoulder starts to hurt. Nothing bad just a nagging pain when I move it certain ways. I tell my Sergeant and he asks if I want to go to Occupational Health and I told him yea just to get checked out. I head back to the precinct grab the paperwork and head to the hospital.

I get to the hospital and after getting checked in I go back to a room and the Doctor comes in with a gown and tells me to put this on and he will be right back. I strip down to my tightly whiteys and socks and put the gown on and sit on the examination table and wait for him to come back.  After about 5 minutes he knocks and opens the door and sees me sitting there with just my socks showing and starts to laugh and says that I didn't have to get undressed he just needs to look at my shoulder. I said well you gave me a gown I might as well use it.An e-xray and 800mg of Motrin later I left with a diagnose of a possibly strain/sprain and to ice it down throughout the day and come back next week to check it again.

I go back in service and handle a few more accidents to end out my shift.

3 Squad Friday and again no accident car!!!!

1st call right out of the gate was for a couple of homeless people living behind a business at the outskirts of the city/county line. While I was in route to my call I passed an intersection where some street workers were digging up the street and had some water on the roadway which was starting to ice up. I requested a sand truck from radio and continued on to my call. In reference to my call we have been there numerous times in the past for calls like this and they usually move along when told and the business owners do not want to press trespassing charges since they will have to go to court and testify that these homeless people do not have the right to be on private property and nobody except crazy police officer want to spend hours upon hours sitting in court. So I move the homeless along and advise the manager of the business to call us if they come back.

So while I am talking to the manager I hear radio dispatch a unit to the intersection with the ice forming for a 2 vehicle accident and when he gets there he tell radio there was just another accident and request another unit. Now you have to understand that there are a lot of asshole NDF's here and everybody is in a hurry to get nowhere and do not pay attention to our pretty blue lights. By the way they are pretty. Anyway this same officer again comes over radio and says that he has a third accident and as he is saying that he pauses and says "hold on radio I think, yep we have another accident" So that's makes 4 accidents within a span of 5 minutes. Nice job by all the officers involved.

Next call is to assist another officer with traffic control on a gas leak. Utility company ruptured a gas line while digging. No biggie.

3rd call was for a disturbance at a church in which a female was supposedly going off in the church parking lot. I get there and the lady is there along with about 10 to 15 other people. She is crying and visibly upset. I ask her whats wrong and she tells me that she was chastised by the people standing around her. I ask why and she tells me she came here for help and that she dropped an F-bomb inside the church. It was an AA meeting going on in the church and all the people around her were recovering alcoholics and also GOD fearing people who don't take too kindly to people dropping the F-bomb in church. Well we got past all of that and I finally got most of the people to leave and that rest that stayed were good people who were still willing to help this lady with her demons. After talking to her for about a half an hour I was able to get her to accept a ride to a local hospital so she could talk to someone about her addiction and get the help she needs.

So my last call was the backing officer in another sector and was for a wanted party. Well the log unit got stuck while en route on a disabled vehicle that was partially blocking the road. So I get there and the guys pretty cool about the whole incident and I tell him that I need to confirm the warrant. After I confirm the warrant he tells me the story behind why hes getting arrested. He tells me that he has a couple of girlfriends and that the one who took out the warrant on him is just mad because he's a player and she made all the stuff up. I told him that I believed the warrant was BS but it was out of my control and I had to arrest him. He was ok with that and we joked until the wagon came to take him to lockup. I even smoked a cigarette with him outside his apartment before the wagon got there. Oh and much thanks to the evening shift wagon driver who graciously took the arrest so I didn't get stuck since my shift was over right before I got the call. Thanks Billy!

It was a pretty good shift and went by pretty fast.

Did I make a difference...........Fuckin A I did........dropping the F-bomb!!!!!!!

Another beautiful day here in the RVA!

3 squad day and I'm not the accident car....yea!

1st call for service was for a couple of vehicles that needed to be towed due to tree work being done. The signs were clearly posted that there was going to be tree work done so I didn't feel too bad about towing the 2 cars.

2 for the price of 1
2nd call for me today was a fight in progress in reference to an accident. Response is code 1 which means we get to drive fast with our pretty lights and sirens. Well we all get there and find out it's not an accident but a road rage incident that turned into a little scrap..... After I get both sides of the story I got a pretty good handle on what happened and ask both combatants what they want to do and amazingly both did not want to pursue anything and since there were no injuries who am I to stand in the way of the great American way of no police involvement.Oh on a positive note: I did however find out what a Barista does, they serve you coffee at Starbucks. How did I find that out you ask? Well when I asked one of my combatants where he worked he told me he was a Barista. I said "what's that" and he told me and I said "Oh your a coffee server just like at Wawa"

3rd call was to assist a school resource officer with a disorderly student. Now prior to going into the school the officer tells me that he really doesn't need me but would like me as a witness since the C/A's office is giving him some heartache on the disorderly conduct arrests because there is no documentation by school security on why these kids are being charged with D/C. Well sure enough when we get in the school there are at least 6 security guards surrounding this kid in a classroom. The SRO tells everybody they can leave and starts to talk to the kid to find out what happened. After that he talks to the Principle who immediately says she wants him arrested for D/C so we all go down to the office and the SRO asks to speak with all the security guards involved so he can get his PC for the arrest. Well would you know all but one of them say they didn't see anything or they were not there. We just look at each other and laugh.

And the last call of my shift was a call for for a random shooting in another sector. I got pulled into the sector because it took 3 officers from that sector to deal with an 88 year old Alzheimer patient, yea that's right 88 frigging years old. Now like I said before I don't give a rats ass to go to another sector to handle a call but when it involves a report to be done and some follow up work I expect the officers from that sector to man up and handle their business not dick around on a call where you don't need 3 officers to handle.

Anyway.......I get to the address and the victim stated that his girlfriends son just shot at him. I ask him what happened to cause this person to take a shot at him and he goes on to say that him and his girlfriend got into a little tiff last night and that this morning they got into it again via text messaging. Well the son of the girlfriend comes over to the victims house and confronts him about the text messages and after some words are exchanged the son walks back to the car, which his mother is driving, by the way, and gets in. Well when the victim starts to walk toward the car the son rolls down the window and cranks one off but it doesn't hit anything while the mother is saying "don't bang him here". Oh well report done and all notifications are made.

Did I make a difference today? Hope so!

I had to work in another sector today since we are shorthanded and it was my turn. I don't mind working in another sector and the little change of scenery is a nice change.

Pretty much a non-eventful day even though it was "officially" St. Paddy's Day but here they celebrated on Saturday and we all thought we would be inundated with calls for service for stuff like vandalism and stupid maybe a drunk or two passed out. Nothing but parking complaints all day except for a assist complainant in regard to his baby momma not letting him have his daughter for his court appointed visitation. When I got there the baby momma and baby were gone and the daddy tells me they met at the agreed upon place and while there they got into an argument (which seems to happen every time imho) and momma says she is not leaving the baby with him and goes home to another jurisdiction. Now I feel bad for the daddy but there is really nothing I can do right then and there except tell him to contact the court in the jurisdiction that issued the court order and ask the Judge to issue a contempt of court against the momma. Nothing worth noting after that call and the shift ended well.

Happy St. Paddy's Day everybody!

50/50 on the weather today, rained the first half of the shift then the sun came out for the second. Nothing interesting for most of the day up until I get a call to talk to a complainant about someone possibly contributing to the delinquency of his daughter.

I have been to this house at least 3 times to take a missing person/runaway report for this guy's 15 year old daughter. He's a good guy but obviously does not have control over his daughter. Anyway he told me that this girl, who's an adult is allowing his daughter to stay at her house and that he wants to file a complainant because that's what the Magistrate told him to do.

I ask him what this girl is doing to his daughter that is contributing to her delinquency and he tells me that she allows his daughter to go over to her house and play with her younger kids and their pitbull dog. I ask him if his daughter is going over there on her own free will and he tells me yes but she shouldn't be going over there. So as we are talking I keep asking what in particular is she doing that is illegal and he then tells me that she is a stripper and that he thinks she does stuff with older men and that he doesn't want his daughter to follow suit. I ask him if she does this "stuff" while in the presence of his daughter and he tells me "no".

I really don't have anything to go on but just to confirm what I already believe I contact a Juvenile detective and we both agree that there is not enough to obtain a warrant and that the Father needs to contact the Juvenile Court because the daughter is already under a CHINS (child in need) petition and get a detention order filed against her.

So long story somewhat short....I do a suspicious situation report and the Father is happy.

Rest of the shift went smoothly, I even got a co-worker to try Thai food for the first time and he actually liked it.

Triple squad day. That means if nobody called out sick of took any time off then there is a shitload of officers working and it should be a good day for everybody.

I was the accident car today and along with handling accidents I had a truancy assignment from 1030 to 1430. I did not have any calls prior to 1030 so when the time comes for my assignment I drove around the neighborhood looking for wayward youths you did not wish to further their education today. Well I tried and tried and tried to find some lost souls but I came up short and at 1430 I looked for greener pastures.

I gassed up my car and got a call for an accident at around 1530. It was a non-reportable so i completed the exchange of information report and headed in to report off, on time I might add.

Sorry for the boring day but I will take them as they come.

Rainy day here in the RVA

1st call of the day was at 0752 and being it was a rainy day it happened to be an accident. I arrived on scene and spoke to the drivers each one agreeing that an accident did in fact happened but that the other one was responsible for it. Now your probably saying 'how can this happen?" I'll tell you....somebody is lying! When this happens I will write it up as driver 1 stated and driver 2 stated and with the absence of an independent witness I cannot really figure out who is at fault on this accident so I will let the insurance companies deal with it.

After the accident I did not get another call until 1530 for a disabled vehicle in a travel lane. Didn't really do much, blocked a lane, threw out some flares and waited for the wrecker to show up. I got relieved by a evening unit and then I headed to the precinct to report off........20 minutes late but no biggie.

On a sad note: I did however manage to watch Master Trooper Walker's funeral service on my phone since channel 12 did a live stream (thanks channel 12). What a beautiful service and after hearing all the speakers talk about the "gentle giant" I really wished I would have met him before he was killed. I am a pretty emotionally strong person but when they played Amazing Grace at the end of the service I shed a tear, for he was my brother.

One thing that reminded me that there is a GOD above and that he watches over us, was that all during the service it was raining and raining hard, but as soon as the service was over it had stopped raining and the sun came out. A friend of a friend posted this on Facebook...."The angel's shed tears during the service. Once it was over, the sun shined through"....John Hinant

Hug your Police Officer or Fireman when they go to work for we do not know when we will be called home.

Wow!!! what a nice day out today, not too sunny and the temperature was awesome.

We had 2 officers in Juvenile and Domestic court today and as always when we are a little shorthanded it seems like the calls never stop. I personally like to keep busy because it makes the shift go by a lot faster than sitting waiting for calls.

The only interesting call I had today was a 3 car accident in which a lady attempted to make a left hand turn onto a side street. What she forgot to do was to make sure there was no traffic coming in the other direction, ah it happens. Well she gets t-boned and the car that hit her goes bouncing into another car that was just sitting in traffic waiting for the light to change.

I'm the first one there and I have 3 vehicles involved, automotive fluid all over the place and people wanting to tell me what happened. I go to all the drivers and they are all conscious and breathing so that's a plus. I then hear the sweet sounds of the sirens so I know help is almost here and I have to hustle. If you don't get your information fast you have to wait because once the FD and ambulance gets there you gotta let them work  and stay out of their way.

I first spoke to the lady who had the right of way and she told me that she was coming down the street on a green signal and this lady started to turn in front of her. I tell her to go on an she says that the lady just stops in the middle of the intersection and that she could not avoid striking her.  I get her license and phone number and I'm off to vehicle 2.

The lady in vehicle 2 is not injured at all, she was sitting at the light and the lady I just talked to hit her car after hitting the car who stopped in the intersection, she has minor damage to her front bumper so I get her information.

So far so good, another Officer is there and he gets the information on the driver who caused the accident as well as a witness statement which is consistent with what my first lady told me that the lady who caused the accident stopped in the middle of the street.

The lady who had the right of way is transported to the hospital and the lady who caused the accident refused medical treatment at the scene and went to the hospital with her grandson who showed up. The other lady did not have any injuries and she was given information and she left.

Wreckers show up and tow the 2 vehicles and we open the roadway and I head to the hospital to give the drivers the exchange form and to issue a summons to the lady who caused the accident.

I take care of the first lady and go to the room where the lady who caused the accident was. She now had her son there with her and I asked her what happened and she told me that she was making a left turn and that she got hit. I asked her if she remembered stopping in the intersection and she gave me a look like I had just stumped her on a million dollar question. She told me there were no other cars out there. I told her there were at least 2 other vehicles out there because one of them hit you and that 2 people said that you stopped smack dab in the intersection and based on their statements I am issuing you a summons for Failure to Yield. I explained the summons and asked her to sign it and then I was on my way.

Oh by the way she was 92 years old, maybe that's why she had trouble remembering. She's been driving longer than I've been on this planet. I made it a point to tell her son that her driving days are probably over and he agreed. I felt a little bad writing her a summons but she did a lot of damage and could have killed somebody. 92 years old......that's a record for me.

After that I had a simple hit and run report and some other stuff that was non-eventful.

All in all a good day

RIP VSP Trooper Walker

As I scroll on Facebook today I see a lot of posts about Trooper Walker. When one of us gets hurt or killed we band together as a family and close ranks as we should. We remember the good times, the bad times, we tell stories and we try and come to grips as to what happened to one of our own. We hug each other and cry and we promise to carry on the fight until it is our turn to be called to Heaven.  And we mourn over our loss.

Well I'm not mourning anymore when one of us gets called to Heaven. I am celebrating the life of my brother or sister who so unselflessly answered the call to duty and stood there and fought the good fight. Trooper Walker served the Commonwealth for 38 years and each and every day of that 38 years HE MADE A DIFFERENCE.

I challenge each and every one of you who takes the time to read what I post to go out and make a difference every day. I don't care if it just smiling and saying hello to a total stranger, just go out and MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Celebrate Trooper Walker's life and carry on his way of Policing.

Another beautiful day here in the RVA. Sun was shinning and the snow was melting but that didn't stop people from driving like idiots.

I was dispatched to an accident involving a city school bus with no reported injuries. Upon my arrival at the scene the school bus was totally blocking both lanes of eastbound traffic and the striking vehicle was still in the westbound lane pretty much right at the spot where he drove into the back of the school bus. I checked on him first since I pulled up right behind him and he was shaken up but not injured, I then went over to the school bus and spoke to the driver through the drivers side window and I asked her if she was ok and she stated that she was shaken up a bit. I asked her if she would like an ambulance to respond and she stated that she would go to the hospital later on her own. I then asked if any of the kids on the bus were injured, there were 4 kids on the bus, and she said no, no one is hurt.

Ok at this point its a simple accident so I get all the information I need for my report and go back to my car to start my paperwork. Well after about 10 minutes I see the Quint from Firehouse 19 pulling up to my accident and a minute after that an ambulance pulls up. Now I didn't call them and dispatch did not call them because it came out as an accident without injuries so who called them. It seemed that the kids on the bus called their parents and after the school board administrators who were on the scene, and there were like 10 of them there, found out the kids are now claiming injuries they called for the ambulance. I asked what kind of injuries because now I have to list names and dob's on my accident report, which is no big deal. I was told back and neck injuries so I assumed that when the kids got a hold of their parents their injuries got worse. I know that some of you are probably thinking that my assuming is wrong and that they could be really hurt but after handling hundreds of accidents I know when someone is hurt, just saying.........

Anyway they take out the kids on backboards and had to call an additional ambulance to handle the mass casualty event that it turned out to be. I'm still calling shenanigans on this one.

Nothing else to report for the rest of my shift.

On a sad note, the Thin Blue Line got thinner today as a VSP Trooper was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop. My condolences got out to his family and the entire VSP family as well. We are all brothers and sisters in BLUE and when one of gets hurt it affects us all. Please say a prayer tonight so that we all make it home at the end of our shift.

3/6/2013 10-11 bt CAD

The day started out as miserable as a day can get. The ride to work was horrible with all the heavy rain/slush coming down making visibility practically nothing. Oh well made it in safely.

As you can imagine with weather like this we will get a lot of calls for accidents and you guessed it we started the shift off with some calls for them.

My first one was a single vehicle accident in which a car ran off the road into a ditch. Since I was on the other side of my sector it took me a few minutes to get there and when I did the car was gone! Good for me and good for them.

My next call is one of the ones you don't forget very often. I get dispatched to meet a complainant who is at the Post Office and needs help getting home which is only a few blocks away and her car isn't working right. I get there and there is this sweet old lady who tells me that she cannot get her car to work. I ask her whats the matter and she says she doesn't know how to clear the rear window or put the wipers on. I ask her how long has she had the car and she tells me 1 day, it's a rental car. Ah ha problem solved, I brush the snow off of both windows and tell her to get in the car. I show her where the rear defroster is as well as how to put the windshield wipers on and all the other stuff she needs to know....all set.

She then asks me if she can follow me to her house just in case, sure no problem we will go slow. She gets home and I have to show her how to shut the hazards off and she good to go. As I'm walking back to my car she thanks me and asks how much she owes me and I walk back to her and pretend like I'm adding stuff up and look at her and say "1 hug" should cover it. That's why I do this job!!!!!!!

The rest of the day was surprisingly uneventful.

Beautiful Saturday morning here and like most beautiful days somebody is going to fuck it up.

Dispatched to a domestic and when I get there it's not really a domestic just a room mate disagreement but most of the time it is dispatched as a domestic. Anyway the leaser of the apartment agrees to accept money from two friends of her boyfriend to stay in her apartment until March 1st. Today is the 2nd so now she wants them out and is in fact demanding that they leave right now. The other side explains that they cannot leave until Monday since one of them has to work 2 twelve hour shifts this weekend. While all of this is going on both girls are arguing back and forth like little kids. Now usually I can tolerate a little bickering back and forth because it can be quite funny sometimes. Not today, my tolerance level is ZERO simply because its a nice day out and nobody should be allowed to spoil a good day not even these 2 assholes.

I explained the law in regard to landlord/tenant situations to the caller and at first she didn't want to hear it but eventually got the gist of it. I told them both to avoid each other until Monday when the couple can move out and there will be peace in both of their little worlds.

I get in my car and drive 2 blocks to add some notes to the call on my computer and I get re-dispatched to the same address for an assault. So I go back there and the original caller now tells me that as soon as I left the other party pushed her and slammed a door on her hand and she wants her arrested for assault. At this point I figure this girl is going to do anything she can in order to get this other girl arrested or out of the apartment. I ask to see her "injured" hand and she shows me it and there is nothing there, no redness, no swelling no nothing. I explain that it has been approximately 5  minutes since I left and that if she had a door slammed on her hand there would be some sign of it. I ask her if she needs an ambulance and she declines. She then goes on to tell me that I have to arrest the other girl for assault and I politely (yea right) tell her that no such thing is going to happen but she can go to the Magistrate's officer to see if she will be able to take out a warrant herself for assault. Ok so I leave again this time heading back to the precinct to do a CYA report for a suspicious situation and not an assault.

Halfway through the report....you guessed it, I get called back to the apartment. Now the caller is stating that the other girl broke down the bathroom door and she wants her arrested for that. I tell her that since she is legally living there she has the right to the bathroom and if she damages any property of the apartment and if the apartment manager wants to press charges they will have to contact us. And by the way she didn't break the door she just jimmied the lock since it is a shared bathroom between two rooms and the caller locked the other girl out on purpose. One of my partners was there along with our Sergeant and we all told her the same thing.

We all leave and things go peacefully for the next couple of hours until about 10 minutes before the end of our shift. We get a call to the apartment this time for people fighting with knives and guns and that the boyfriend of the other girl is there and he was threatened by the original caller and her boyfriend....you all still following me? I know its pretty confusing at this point. We get there and the original caller and her boyfriend, who by the way has an unserved protective order against him, flee out the back of the apartment when we pull up out front. We speak to the other girls boyfriend and he tells us that he was there to get their stuff and was threatened by the original caller and her boyfriend and would we stand by while he gets some stuff. Oh he also tells us that his girlfriend was just arrested at her job on a warrant that the original caller took out on her.

Well all of a sudden the original caller comes in the apartment with a protection order against the other girl. She hears what the boyfriend is saying and she starts denying everything about the threats and blah blah blah.  We tell her to shut her mouth and then my partner asks the boyfriend how did they threaten you and he says they waved a knife at him and said they were going to kill him. My partner says that he will do a report on it and that he can take warrants out on the original caller and her boyfriend for the threats that they made.

So in the end the original caller partially got what she wanted, the other girl was arrested but it was a releasable warrant and she was just given a court date and was never taken to lock up. However if the other girls boyfriend takes out a warrant and she is arrested she will probably spend the weekend in jail because of her criminal record. I sure hopes that happens, really I do. And the original caller's boyfriend, he never showed back up at the apartment, he's in the wind.

Triple squad day ABD......usually I get the accident or "crash car" and today was no different.

First call of the day was not dispatched to me but since I was the "crash car" I figured I stop by to see if I could do anything.

The call comes out about an SUV that is overturned and sitting in the median of one of the expressways that run through the city. The caller stated that there was nobody inside it. The location that the caller gave is not exactly where the vehicle was found so it took a little while until we found it.

So your probably thinking two scenarios right? Number 1 being that the accident happened a while ago and someone already worked it but the car was not towed or number 2 the driver simply walked away from the scene and never called it in.

Well they both would be wrong, I digress, scenario 1 would be partially correct. The accident did happen a while ago but nobody worked it and the driver was still in the car dead as dead can be.We figured the accident happened sometime overnight and where it was it is very dark so unless somebody saw the accident and called it in when it happened nobody would be able to see it until the sun came up and that's what happened.

The way it looked the vehicle left the road, turned slightly sideways, ran up an embankment and flew into the air and hit a tree at least 8 feet off the ground. The driver was partially hanging out of the drivers side window and when they flipped the vehicle over his entire head was popped out of the moon/sun roof. It looked like it was a horrific crash and hopefully the driver died instantly and did not suffer since the accident occurred at least a couple of hours before we got the call.

The State Police were there and agreed to work the accident since there are a couple of new Troopers on the road who need the experience working a fatality.....good for them and good for us!

After that I had a few more accidents but really nothing to write about.
