Triple squad day ABD......usually I get the accident or "crash car" and today was no different.

First call of the day was not dispatched to me but since I was the "crash car" I figured I stop by to see if I could do anything.

The call comes out about an SUV that is overturned and sitting in the median of one of the expressways that run through the city. The caller stated that there was nobody inside it. The location that the caller gave is not exactly where the vehicle was found so it took a little while until we found it.

So your probably thinking two scenarios right? Number 1 being that the accident happened a while ago and someone already worked it but the car was not towed or number 2 the driver simply walked away from the scene and never called it in.

Well they both would be wrong, I digress, scenario 1 would be partially correct. The accident did happen a while ago but nobody worked it and the driver was still in the car dead as dead can be.We figured the accident happened sometime overnight and where it was it is very dark so unless somebody saw the accident and called it in when it happened nobody would be able to see it until the sun came up and that's what happened.

The way it looked the vehicle left the road, turned slightly sideways, ran up an embankment and flew into the air and hit a tree at least 8 feet off the ground. The driver was partially hanging out of the drivers side window and when they flipped the vehicle over his entire head was popped out of the moon/sun roof. It looked like it was a horrific crash and hopefully the driver died instantly and did not suffer since the accident occurred at least a couple of hours before we got the call.

The State Police were there and agreed to work the accident since there are a couple of new Troopers on the road who need the experience working a fatality.....good for them and good for us!

After that I had a few more accidents but really nothing to write about.
