Rainy day here in the RVA

1st call of the day was at 0752 and being it was a rainy day it happened to be an accident. I arrived on scene and spoke to the drivers each one agreeing that an accident did in fact happened but that the other one was responsible for it. Now your probably saying 'how can this happen?" I'll tell you....somebody is lying! When this happens I will write it up as driver 1 stated and driver 2 stated and with the absence of an independent witness I cannot really figure out who is at fault on this accident so I will let the insurance companies deal with it.

After the accident I did not get another call until 1530 for a disabled vehicle in a travel lane. Didn't really do much, blocked a lane, threw out some flares and waited for the wrecker to show up. I got relieved by a evening unit and then I headed to the precinct to report off........20 minutes late but no biggie.

On a sad note: I did however manage to watch Master Trooper Walker's funeral service on my phone since channel 12 did a live stream (thanks channel 12). What a beautiful service and after hearing all the speakers talk about the "gentle giant" I really wished I would have met him before he was killed. I am a pretty emotionally strong person but when they played Amazing Grace at the end of the service I shed a tear, for he was my brother.

One thing that reminded me that there is a GOD above and that he watches over us, was that all during the service it was raining and raining hard, but as soon as the service was over it had stopped raining and the sun came out. A friend of a friend posted this on Facebook...."The angel's shed tears during the service. Once it was over, the sun shined through"....John Hinant

Hug your Police Officer or Fireman when they go to work for we do not know when we will be called home.

10-7 EOT

RIP Master Trooper Walker
