Another beautiful day here in the RVA!
3 squad day and I'm not the accident car....yea!
1st call for service was for a couple of vehicles that needed to be towed due to tree work being done. The signs were clearly posted that there was going to be tree work done so I didn't feel too bad about towing the 2 cars.

3rd call was to assist a school resource officer with a disorderly
student. Now prior to going into the school the officer tells me that
he really doesn't need me but would like me as a witness since the C/A's
office is giving him some heartache on the disorderly conduct arrests
because there is no documentation by school security on why these kids
are being charged with D/C. Well sure enough when we get in the school
there are at least 6 security guards surrounding this kid in a
classroom. The SRO tells everybody they can leave and starts to talk to
the kid to find out what happened. After that he talks to the Principle
who immediately says she wants him arrested for D/C so we all go down to
the office and the SRO asks to speak with all the security guards
involved so he can get his PC for the arrest. Well would you know all
but one of them say they didn't see anything or they were not there. We
just look at each other and laugh.
And the last call of my shift was a call for for a random shooting in another sector. I got pulled into the sector because it took 3 officers from that sector to deal with an 88 year old Alzheimer patient, yea that's right 88 frigging years old. Now like I said before I don't give a rats ass to go to another sector to handle a call but when it involves a report to be done and some follow up work I expect the officers from that sector to man up and handle their business not dick around on a call where you don't need 3 officers to handle.
Anyway.......I get to the address and the victim stated that his girlfriends son just shot at him. I ask him what happened to cause this person to take a shot at him and he goes on to say that him and his girlfriend got into a little tiff last night and that this morning they got into it again via text messaging. Well the son of the girlfriend comes over to the victims house and confronts him about the text messages and after some words are exchanged the son walks back to the car, which his mother is driving, by the way, and gets in. Well when the victim starts to walk toward the car the son rolls down the window and cranks one off but it doesn't hit anything while the mother is saying "don't bang him here". Oh well report done and all notifications are made.
Did I make a difference today? Hope so!
