I'm back everybody. Took a little time off because I really didn't give a shit about writing about what I was seeing and the stupidity I am subjected to every shift I work. But I am back and I am going to start off with a real dose of stupidity that was thrust upon me and a couple of firefighters yesterday but let me preface it by saying I was pretty tired today so I needed a little pick me up to start my shift.

I get a call to meet a complainant in regard to a civil war relic in his yard that might possibly be a cannon ball. The FD is also responding which is protocol when something like this is found and in this area it is a pretty common find since this was the capital of the confederacy and this shit is all around.

OK so I get there along with Quint 18 and I talk to the complainant and he states that when he moved into the house he saw that there was a metal ball in his flower garden which he assumed was a cannon ball from the civil war. He goes on to state that he picked it up and placed it at the base of a tree in the rear of his next door neighbors yard (nice fucking guy to put a cannon ball in his neighbor's yard) but it's not there anymore.

Now here comes the stupidity................because I am thinking that the guy still lives there because he does not tell me otherwise.

I then ask him when did he put the cannon ball back there and he tells me "2008" when we bought the house. After I stared at him for a few minutes I asked him if he still lived there at which time he told me no. I then ask him why we are standing here right now if you last seen it 5 years ago and he told me that he was watching a television show last night on civil war artifacts and he remembered placing the cannon ball in the yard. He then asks if we have any metal detectors to search the back yard and we told him "sorry we don't do that" I told him to call us back if he happens to locate the cannon ball and he says "ok sorry to have to call you all out over this" and I replied "yea me too"

Oh and contrary to most of my replies on my FB page of my disabled vehicle call I did not push it into the county I just put some flares up and got out of there. I was however tempted to do it but it was quite hot out and I didn't want to exert myself being Sunday and all.

Hopefully I will continue to write but I have been in a funk lately. I guess it's the heat so I'll try and stay cool and continue to write......Later everybody
